About this teaching resource
Words are so much more fun when they are alive! If you’re interested in getting your students past written dictionary definitions to explore the meaning of words then Word Theatre might just bring words alive for you and your students!
Word Theatre helps students to develop and consolidate word meanings by acting out new or familiar vocabulary.
- Pairs of students act, without speaking, to demonstrate the meaning of a word
- Audience watches to work out the word
Included in each set:
- 3+ lists of words within a category, to get you started. Once you’re going, students will be creating their own lists.
Word Theatre Sets:
- Homophones and Homographs
- Nouns, Adjectives, Verbs
- Compound Words
Check out our Word Theatre Info Sheet for how to get started and all the details on how to play!
