About this teaching resource

When real writers get down to the business of writing there are a few tools that can help to organise this complex, wondrous, creative process.

But writers who procrastinate can use tools as a distraction. Some spend too much time collecting more tools, organising their tools, sharpening their tools and doing any other thing that can stall the act of actually writing.

I’m hoping these Tools for Real Writers may prompt some thoughts about the organisation of a genuine writing process. It’s really quite simple what a writer needs, and it’s less to do with objects than it is with the creative energy, interest, investment and activation of the extraordinary caboodle box of imagination that lives right inside their mind and heart.

Maybe a Writing Portfolio Cover will be just the shot for helping a Writer to feel like they can get on with this business of writing, or maybe they will prefer to design and create their very own, not as procrastination, but rather as a creative process. Indeed the cover may be the very place where a Caboodle Box of writing ideas is captured.

Writing needs to feel wondrous and joyous but also like hard work that all good learning endeavours are. After all we are teaching them to be creators, not consumers.
