The Story of Little Hoot - A Play for K-2

About this teaching resource

This is a wonderful book to read to K-2 children. If possible read it to your class as part of Shared Reading.

Then use this play as a dramatic interpretation of the story and some drama fun!

• Start by narrating the play and having a few children act it out.
• With each performance let the children say more of the words.
• Let different groups of children try it out.
• Then let them go off in groups to practise their own version of the play.
• Come back for some final performances. Standby to read out the script for those children who need more direction/support.
