About this teaching resource
When you want to encourage your readers to think and talk about books in meaningful and thoughtful ways at home, send them home with an Imaginative Texts or Informative Texts Bookmark.
- Consider printing them back to back: Informative Books one side, Imaginative Books the other.
- Show your students how to think and talk about imaginative and informative books at school
- Let them practice using the book marks to activate their thinking and talking
- Let your students personalise the bookmarks with colour before laminating and sending home.
- If you run a parent information session at the beginning of the school year share the book marks with parents to let them know they will be coming home, and let them in on the secrets of what good readers think and talk about as they read.
